ADHD, stress, anxiety, depression, and other mental disorders can severely compromise the quality of familial relationships, be it parent-child, marital, or other types. Moreover, these mental disorders add to the stress of parenting as well as everyday life. However, nothing is impossible, and we can help you develop a more connected and fulfilling relationship with your family. At NorthStar Therapy, we identify underlying behavioral and emotional difficulties and empower you to implement positive changes for you and your family’s well-being.

If you or your child has ADHD, you can truly benefit from our assessment and treatment options. Our family therapy sessions focus on:

  • Teen anxiety and depression

  • Teens with self-esteem, peer relationship, or school-related issues

  • ADHD-related behavioral challenges

  • Life transition management

  • Tasks and time management

  • Parent-child relationship issues

Relationships take work. We help clients identify whatever may be causing conflict. For example, ADHD challenges often add additional stress in a couple's relationship. NorthStar Therapy focuses on strengthening relationships while helping the couple learn how ADHD, life stress, depression, and other challenges impact their relationship.

I help couples develop more effective strategies to overcome:

  • ADHD education

  • Marital conflict

  • Communication skills

  • Conflict resolution

  • Children and parenting issues

  • Finance management issues

Hire a Certified CPS Provider for the Well-Being of Your Child

Guided by Dr. Ross Greene, Mariah flaunts a Collaborative and Proactive Solutions (CPS) certification as a result of completing an intensive 24-week training regime. She helps parents understand what their kids are going through and enables them to create supportive environments. It’s no secret that managing a child’s ADHD-related challenges can be extremely stressful. However, many effective problem-solving methods assist parents in positively navigating their child’s behavior. CPS is a trauma-sensitive approach that seeks to care for kids with ADHD in the best possible manner.

CPS is based on collaboration between parents and children. Some of the major benefits of Mariah’s CPS strategy include strengthening relationships through enhanced communication and conflict resolution.
